University Wall Canada, 2006, 12 minutes
Peter Croft wishes all climbing was this groovy. The film is a magical musical ride through the archives and an entertaining look at the historical exploits that inspired the four students who conquered Squamish’s University Wall in 1966. |

Great Sporting Duels: Duel in the Himalayas — Great Britain / Germany France, 2005, 51 minutes
The early 20th century saw the conquest of one Alpine summit after another. When countries began to reaffirm their national identities and values between the two world wars, England and Germany came to grips in a challenge that was to be played out in virgin territory — the Himalayas. The rivalry was to continue into the 1950s, with each country concentrating on its “own” mountain: Everest for the English, Nanga Parbat for the Germans. Fifty years on each side took the high-altitude challenge to its absolute limits. |
