Dianne Draper

Dianne Draper (PhD Waterloo) has been teaching environmental, resources management and tourism courses in Canadian universities for over 25 years. While at Memorial University of Newfoundland she was affiliated with the Ocean Sciences Institute and the Newfoundland Oceans Research and Development Corporation. She has been a consultant on tourism and parks issues with federal and provincial governments and the private sector.

Her publications focus on Canadian environment and sustainable tourism topics. Her current research program focuses on governance and quality of life issues in communities working toward sustainable tourism, managing tourism growth and its impacts on communities, water resources, and parks and protected areas. Draper is professor and head of the geography department, and an adjunct professor of planning with the faculty of environmental design, at the University of Calgary.
