Charles Kay
Charles Kay has a Ph.D. in wildlife ecology from Utah
State University. He is currently an adjunct professor
in the Department of Political Science and a senior
environmental scholar at Utah State University’s
Institute of Political Economy. Charles takes a
consilience approach to science, integrating wildlife
and vegetation ecology with archaeological and
historical research. In 1990 he completed a detailed,
independently funded evaluation of Yellowstone National
Park’s “natural regulation” management program. He
continues to study Rocky Mountain ecosystems through
contracts with Parks Canada, the U.S. Agricultural
Research Service, and the U.S. Forest Service. Dr. Kay
has recently published a book on Native American’s role
in structuring western North American ecosystems. His
current interest is long-term human and wildlife
interactions in southern Africa.
