Tomas Willebrand

Dr. Willebrand is the Program Director of a large interdisciplinary research
program focussing on land use in the Swedish mountain range. The program has
contracted about 18 researchers from different disciplines and universities in
Sweden, and includes extensive stakeholder interaction.
He was previously the managing director of the research division of the Swedish
Hunting Organization, a partly state-funded organization with broad
responsibilities for practical wildlife management in Sweden.
Much of his research has focussed on population dynamics of wildlife but he has
also collaborated in several studies on Human Dimensions of wildlife ecology. He
is currently member of a parliamentary commission on hunting and fishing rights
on state-owned land in the mountain region of Sweden.
