Tim Duane |

Tim Duane is the
author of "Shaping the Sierra: Nature, Culture, and
Conflict in the Changing West" (University of
California Press, 1999) and associate professor of
environmental planning and policy at the University
of California, Berkeley. He grew up in the Sierra
Nevada and has worked on growth management issues in
mountain communities for a quarter-century. He is a
leading expert on environmental policy, land use
planning, water and power system planning,
electricity regulation, and public land and resource
management. Prof. Duane served as a special
consultant to the $7 million Sierra Nevada Ecosystem
Project in 1993-1996 and as a member of the
California Spotted Owl Federal Advisory Committee in
1997. He is now serving as a consultant to the
Packard Foundation, conducting an independent
evaluation of its $175 million Conserving California
Landscapes Initiative. |
