Dr. Romain Molitor was
born in Luxembourg, Luxembourg, and studied civil
engineering at the University of Technology in
Vienna, Austria. After his studies, he worked as a
planning engineer in transport planning in Vienna
until 1988, as project assistant at the Institute
for Road Construction and Transportation at the
University of Technology from 1988 to 1991 and as
research and teaching assistant at the Institute for
Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering at the
University of Technology in Vienna from 1991 to
1996.Romain was a member of the board of the
European Federation for Transport and Environment
(T&E) based in Brussels from 1992 to 1996, a
lobbying organization of NGOs for sustainable
transport.
Since 1996 Romain has been a consulting engineer
in Luxembourg, Luxembourg and in Vienna, Austria (Trafico
Verkehrsplanung) and works on projects for
international and national organizations (UN, OECD,
EEA, Ministries and Communities in Austria and
Luxembourg). His focus recently has been to
elaborate solutions for sustainable transport in the
Alpine Region plus work on the environmental effects
of freight transport crossing the Alps, on the
environmental effects of car traffic, and on
sustainable transport and tourism in the Alpine
Region.
