The UIAA in Banff : Women who have made a difference to the Mountaineering Community

First woman delegate to the UIAA and to the Mountaineering Commission, AAC (American Alpine Club) director, AAC chair for international exchanges, first woman VP of the UIAA Mountaineering Commission, most honored to have been voted by my colleagues to be the first woman president of the UIAA MC. Proud to have been part of the team in creating the Tyrol Declaration. Proud to have been part of the first two world women’s mountaineering conferences in Wales and Sweden.

Best experiences climbing: that is easy, the first one and the last one just done. To steal a line from an incredible mentor, Tom Frost, “I did not realize I was never going to be immune to the adventures of climbing or the characters, once I took that first step off the ground” (my part) in my red stilettos.
